It is never shocking to see Republicans lash out at their own for real or imagined disloyalty to the rigid dogma of the Not-So-Grand Old Party. This has already been seen in the quick repudiation of conservatives who've dared to endorse Barack Obama. Yesterday's endorsement by Colin Powell further exposed this inability of Republicans to accept contrary opinions. It also exposed that despite appearances of acceptance, African Americans will always be held as suspect by the base of the GOP.
